G1. How to transfer a domain to another registar?
dotEarth's Transfer-Out Policy operates in accordance with ICANN's Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy (http://icann.org/en/transfers/).
To assist our customers in understanding how transfer-out requests work, the steps are described below.
The gaining (new) registrar provider must initiate the transfer of registrar request for the domain name, as the losing registrar dotEarth does not initiate the transfer of registrar request.
The gaining (new) registrar will require the domain's transfer authorization code, sometimes called the "AUTH-INFO CODE" (and possibly additional information) from the current domain holder, in accordance with the gaining (new) registrar's policies in order to formally initiate the domain transfer request.
The domain transfer authorization code is the same as the dotEarth domain password. They are one and the same in our domain administration system.
If you need a domain password/transfer authorization code, go to http://modify.dotEarth.com/ and click on the "Forgot Domain Password/Auth Code" link to have the password/transfer authorization code automatically sent to the administrative contact email address on record for the domain name.
dotEarth domains are typically not locked by default, so unless locked by you earlier, they will not require unlocking prior to initiating transfer. The domain lock status can be verified by examining the public WHOIS search results for the domain.
After the gaining (new) registrar formally initiates the domain transfer, the domain will show (pending-transfer) status in the domain's public WHOIS search results. The transfer will be completed automatically by the Registry after 5-days.
DotEarth will allow the registry auto-transfer to the gaining (new) registrar unless otherwise instructed by the you the current Registrant, your authorized agent/contact, or by ICANN or other valid legal authority.

2. Domain WHOIS update
WHOIS Format Change - Effective May 25, 2018
Effective on May 25, 2018, the Internet Corporation for Applied Names and Numbers (ICANN) implemented a mandatory change to the public domain WHOIS format for gTLD Registration Data. This Temporary Specification establishes temporary requirements to allow ICANN and gTLD registry operators and accredited registrars to continue to comply with existing ICANN contractual requirements and community-developed policies in light of the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
See https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/gtld-registration-data-specs-en
As a result of this ICANN requirement, our WHOIS output has been changed accordingly, with most fields displaying "REDACTED FOR PRIVACY". As you may notice, the new WHOIS format is similar to many optional "whois privacy" services, in this case at no extra charge.
You may continue to make changes to your registration and contact data at the usual domain modification link:
https://secure.resellserv.com/www.resellserv.com/servlet/GetForm?site=www.resellserv.com&template=us_modify_template2.html
Unfortunately at this time we cannot alter this WHOIS display to the "old style" without further direction from ICANN.
In addition to the the WHOIS format change, we have implemented a revised Privacy Policy. Click here to review dotEarth's updated Privacy Policy (https://secure.dotearth.com/www.dotearth.com/privacy.html). This Privacy Policy has been incorporated into our Terms of Use and Registration Agreement.
We hope that these changes will help further protect your privacy.
